Corinthians midfielder Paulinho linked to Tottenham and Roma - reports
Tottenham have joined the race to sign Corinthians' highly-rated midfielder Paulinho, according to reports in Italian press.
Sky Sport Italia's journalist Gianluca Di Marzio says that Tottenham were originally interested in Inter Milan's midfielder Freddy Guarín.
Di Marzio adds that Inter's demands and other difficulties have lead Tottenham to change their focus to Paulinho.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Roma are also interested in Paulinho, they are reportedly offering 11 million Euros for the midfielder, not enough to compete with Tottenham.
The rumors have not been confirmed by any Brazilian sources, but Corinthians have warned before that they will only sell Paulinho if his full 20 million Euros buyout fee is paid.
However, the current world champions have admitted that they could sell Paulinho for a lower value if the midfielder decides this is the right time to leave Corinthians.
Paulinho has previously attracted interest from Inter Milan, but his high transfer fee has prevented a deal from happening.
Shakhtar Donetsk were also interested, but they have recently signed Grêmio's defensive midfielder Fernando.
Besides Paulinho, Atlético Mineiro's winger Bernard has also been linked to Tottenham, while it has been alleged the English club are no longer interested in Internacional's striker Leandro Damião.
