Denílson set to sign new contract with São Paulo
Former Arsenal midfielder Denílson is set to sign a new contract with São Paulo, where he is currently on loan from the English club.
The midfielder has already reached an agreement to leave Arsenal once the loan to São Paulo is over on June 30.
Denílson had attracted interest from other clubs, most notably CSKA Moscow, but decided to stay at the Tricolor.
He will sign a new contract with São Paulo this Friday, keeping him at the club until December 2017, according to reports in Brazilian press.
He is regarded by manager Ney Franco as a key player, and as one of the best defensive midfielders in Brazil.
There were concerns about him getting carded too often, but Casemiro's transfer to Real Madrid means São Paulo would need to sign two defensive midfielders if Denílson were to leave the club.
