Luciano Figueroa transfer to Náutico falls through
Luciano Figueroa's transfer from Panathinaikos to Náutico has fallen through, have revealed the Brazilian club.
The deal had been announced yesterday, and he would sign contract until the end of the Pernambuco league in May 2014.
Náutico's official Vinícius Labanca explained why the deal did not work out, he told Terra: "He is a player of international relevance, we started negotiations with them 20 days ago.
We sent someone to Argentina, to talk with the player and convince him to join Náutico. The player made an effort to come to Recife, we reached an agreement over all the financial conditions."
He added: "The made an effort to come, tried for two days in a row to go from Rosario to Recife, but there was a problem with the airport. He went by car from Buenos Aires to São Paulo and arrived in Recife last night."
Luciano Figueroa's agent Jorge Figueroa also talked with Terra, he said: "Lucho's wife is pregnant, it's nothing serious but he feels he needs to stay with her at the moment."
