Seleção midfielder Hernanes happy to 'rewrite history'

Seleção midfielder Hernanes was happy to be able to “rewrite history” following the 3-0 win over France.
The Lazio player was delighted with the win, which he feels helps make up for his red card in the 1-0 defeat to the France in February 2011.
The 28-year-old was sent off after kicking Real Madrid striker Benzema in the chest in the previous meeting between the two sides and has been waiting for his chance to make up for his mistake.
Hernanes, who replaced Luiz Gustavo in the second half, told reporters: “I was very concentrated on the bench, waiting for my opportunity, because the last game against France should be forgotten.
“I thought I would not get on the field, but I played and got to rewrite history”
Chelsea’s Oscar gave the Seleção the lead before Hernanes came off the bench to grab the second goal with Lucas Moura rounding up the win from the penalty spot.
The midfielder also believes the win now gives the Seleção a good start to build from going into the Confederations Cup which starts on June 15.
He added: “It was an important win, it gives us peace of mind to keep working."
