Jô called up to replace injured Leandro Damião for match against France
Atlético Mineiro's striker Jô has been called up to replace Internacional's player Leandro Damião, who got injured in training today.
Leandro Damião got injured in the right thigh during Brazil's training match this Thursday and had to be removed from the squad.
Jô has been called up to replace him, he has been shining at Atlético Mineiro this season, and is expected to join the rest of the squad tomorrow.
Brazil will play against France in Porto Alegre on Sunday, before debuting in the Confederations Cup against Japan a week later.
Luiz Felipe Scolari is already in Porto Alegre to start the preparations for the game, he told CBF's official site: "Brazil's national team staff once again thanks Brazilian clubs, in this case Atlético Mineiro and manager Cuca, for understanding the national team needs, and for giving all the support the national team need by releasing the player."
Leandro Damião will remain in the squad for the Confederations Cup, but he might still be removed from the squad if he fails to recover in time.
