Romário: Brazil not good enough to win the World Cup

Reuters

Former Vasco and Barcelona star Romário has criticized the Brazilian national team, pointing out that he does not believe Brazil can win the World Cup.

Romário, unlike Ronaldo, is outspoken, often expressing his opinions about the Brazilian national team and the Brazil FA.

He talked about these subjects with Marie Claire, Romário said: "If the World Cup was played today, Brazil would not win.

I don't think we can win the Confederations Cup either, Brazil are currently playing too far from the level needed to be world champions."

Romário also talked about Brazil's FA president José Maria Marin, he said: "[Marin] is a thief, thieves aren't just those that rob banks. This guy doesn't have the posture to be Brazil's FA president."

The footballer turned congressman was asked if he would like to become the FA president, he said: "No, there is a big possibility that I run for Congress again. Maybe I will try in four years, but not now."
