São Paulo attacking midfielder Ganso is a target for Ligue 1 champions PSG, according to French website Le 10 Sport.

The reports suggest that the French club’s director of football, former Brazil international Leonardo, has travelled to Brazil to enquire about signing the talented young midfielder.

Since emerging on the scene alongside his friend Neymar at Santos, the forward-thinking creative player has struggled for both form and fitness, but found himself playing more regularly in this season’s Paulista state championship.

The Paris club have been monitoring the midfielder for a couple of years now, but it’s likely that their director of football will want to take a closer look at the player before committing to a transfer.

Having strolled to the league title last season, PSG will be looking to usurp AS Monaco, who will also be spending lavishly this summer, in their activities both off and on the pitch.

Ganso has made a total of eight appearances for the Brazil national team, and like many Brazilian footballers, he will be thinking about giving himself the best chance of selection for next year’s World Cup.
