Felipe Melo admits high salary may prevent move to São Paulo
Former Flamengo midfielder Felipe Melo has admitted that his high salary may prevent a move to São Paulo.
He is under contract with Juventus until 2015, but was loaned to Turkish club Galatasaray in the last two seasons and is a popular player among the fans.
Galatasaray, however, are not willing to pay the 6 million Euros Juventus demand to sell him.
Felipe Melo talked to Energia 97 FM about his situation, he said: "The truth is that salaries in Europe are inevitably much higher than any supposed salary in Brazil could be."
"São Paulo are known all over the world, it would be a honor to play for them, but a return now...If São Paulo can buy me from Juventus, I would have no problem to play there."
"But I think that's hard to happen, maybe it would be easier if Juventus loaned me out, but they don't want to, they want to make money. They would sell me for six or seven million Euros."
