England's Andy Carroll ruled out of Brazil clash with injury
England striker Andy Carroll is the latest to be ruled out of the Three Lions' clash with Brazil due to injury.
The Liverpool forward has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a heel problem and as a result has been forced to withdraw from Roy Hodgson's squad.
The centre-forward will also miss England's friendly against The Republic of Ireland along with teammate Tom Cleverley who also recently withdrew from the setup.
It remains to be seen if Hodgson will call up a replacement for the Brazil friendly taking place at the Maracanã on June 2.
Hodgson currently has the likes of Wayne Rooney, Jermain Defoe, Daniel Sturridge and Daniel Welbeck at his disposal and could choose not to call up another striker.
Carroll will be extremely disappointed after an excellent run of form at the end of the season with West Ham United, having spent the season on loan from Liverpool.
