Bebeto's son Mattheus close to renewing contract with Flamengo
Bebeto's son Mattheus is close to extending his contract with Flamengo as the negotiations have advanced recently.
ESPN Brasil reports that Flamengo's vice-president Wallim Vasconcellos met representatives from MFD Sports, which is the group of investors that run Mattheus's career.
The meeting happened this Friday, as Wallim Vasconcellos showed his proposal to extend Mattheus' contract for five more seasons.
A deal is expected to be reached by Monday, as Mattheus and his staff felt disappointed that Juventus did not make an official offer as they claimed they would.
The Italian club preferred to stall the negotiations so they could sign Mattheus for free in December, which was not an acceptable option for Mattheus and his father Bebeto.
Mattheus is eager to sign a new contract as he has barely played in 2013 and has been training alone due to the then to the now failed negotiations with Juventus, which according to Bebeto, is harmful to his son's development.
