São Paulo’s Jadson caps great week with selection for Paulista team of the season
São Paulo midfielder Jadson capped a great seven days on Wednesday when he was selected as part of the Paulista Championship team of the season.
Jadson, 29, was earlier this week inducted into the ‘Walk of Fame’ at his former club Shakhtar Donestsk, before being selected by Luiz Felipe Scolari to be part of the Brazil squad for the Confederations Cup this summer.
And that was topped off on Wednesday with his selection in the Paulista XI, despite São Paulo getting knocked out by Corinthians on penalties in the semi-final.
He told the club’s official website: “It was a very nice week for me. I was honoured at Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, called for the Confederations Cup, and now I was elected for the team of the Championship. I am very pleased.”
Jadson moved back to Brazil with São Paulo in January 2012 and believes his call-up for the Confederations Cup is due to his raised profile from being back in his home country.
