Bebeto warns Juventus of Real Madrid interest in Mattheus
Former Seleção star Bebeto has warned Juventus that they are in danger of being beaten by Real Madrid to the signing of Flamengo starlet Mattheus.
Bebeto's son is set to move abroad and a move to Italy has been on the cards for some time but Juventus have stalled over a move and it looks likely that Real may beat them to the punch.
"Juventus have shown great interest in him and I know a five year contract has been agreed in principle,” the former Brazilian striker stated.
"However, Juve must pay €1m up front because his contract expires at the end of December. As soon as that arrives, he will leave for Turin.
"The problem is that Flamengo aren’t letting him play anymore given that they know he is leaving and he can’t afford not to play the rest of the year.
"He has a lot of offers and if Juventus don’t define everything by May 10 then we would consider ourselves free to talk to Real Madrid who have made us a good offer."
