After several weeks of conflict, Real Madrid decided to call upon the FIFA in order to obtain the release of the the FC Santos forward Robinho.

Madrid are been willing to pay the sum corresponding to the contractual value, that is to say 30 million Euros whereas Santos requires the value of the penalty clause which is fixed at 50 million Euros.

To repatriate Robinho at the stage to Santiago Bernabéu, the lawyers of the Spanish clubs also quoted in their arguments the lack of safety of the family of the player in Brazil and a document of last November which would prove a preliminary agreement between the two clubs.

Also, Real, Wagner Ribeiro and Robinho risk a severe punishment by the FIFA if they find in Santos’s favour. Real could be sanctioned like AS Roma was with a prohibition to recruit for the two next seasons.

Robinho could be suspended for one 4 months duration to have broken a contract in a unilateral way whereas its agent could quite simply lose its chart of agent FIFA. A very awaited decision thus which could have a strong repercussion in the world of football.
