Botafogo intend to sell promising defender Dória in the next transfer window in orde to improve the club’s financial situation.

The club are in a difficult financial situation, and they see in Dória a player with a good market abroad.

The defender nearly joined Juventus in January, but the deal fell through after his poor performance in the South American Under 20 Championship.

Teams from Portugal and Italy are believed to be interested in Dória, but no official offer has been made yet.

Botafogo started to develop promising players again after many years of decline at youth level, and the current team also include the likes of Vitinho and Gabriel, who have been called up for the youth national team before.

Jadson, a defensive midfielder, was also part of the squad but he was sold to Italian club Udinese in July.

The squad also include promising striker Bruno Mendes, who joined from Guarani. He was part of Brazil’s squad in the youth South American Championship, but he failed to shine.
