Flamengo are close to announcing the signing of XV de Piracicaba"s duo Diego Silva and Paulinho.
The duo shone in the São Paulo State Championship and will be loaned to Flamengo until May 2014. Diego Silva is a defensive midfielder, 23 years old, while Paulinho is a striker, 24 years old.
Both players will undergo a medical this Thursday and will sign the contract afterwards. Flamengo will have the option to buy both of them.
Flamengo"s director of football Paulo Pelaipe talked to ESPN about the negotiations, he said: “We only announce new players after the medical. Diego [Silva] and Paulinho from XV de Piracicaba are coming. We already agreed everything with the club"s president, for when they pass the medical."
“We are evaluating players from all states [of Brazil]. We are signing players on loan deals, with an option to buy. We are investing in promising players that fit in our salary policy."
