Flamengo have confirmed that Bebeto’s son Mattheus is on the verge of joining Italian champions Juventus.
The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to the Turin giants ever since the turn of the year, with previous reports claiming initial talks began in October.
Juventus are now on the verge of completing a deal with the Brazilian club, believed to be for a fee in the region of €1.5 million.
Flamengo sporting director Paulo Pelaipe told Lancenet: “We are just missing a document that has yet to arrive from Italy. But the agreement is basically done.”
The Brazil Under-20 star was, of course, the inspiration for Bebeto’s famous cradle-rocking celebration at the 1994 World Cup and has been with the Rubro-negro since the age of 10.
