Botafogo had little trouble to crush Resende 5-0 to advance to the Rio de Janeiro’s Second Turn (Taça Rio) final.

The match was played at the Raulino de Oliveira in Volta Redonda and one-sided since the beginning.

Botafogo needed only a draw to advance to the final, but that did not prevent Seedorf from focusing on helping his team win the game.

Dória opened the scoring for Botafogo in the 12th minute, Lodeiro extended their advantage four minutes later.

Resende could have scored with Elias, but Brazilian international goalkeeper Jefferson saved his penalty.

Fellype Gabriel soon scored Botafogo’s third goal, virtually killing any Resende hope of a comeback.

Botafogo slowed down in the second half, as the game was in their hands, but that did not prevent Rafael Marques from scoring the team’s fourth game in the 53rd minute.

Seedorf scored Botafogo’s last goal a few minutes before the final whistle. Botafogo will face Fluminense or Volta Redonda in the Taça Rio final.
