Former São Paulo and Real Madrid right-back Cicinho is close to extending his contract with Sport Recife.
Cicinho joined Sport Recife last year, after a spell in Italy, where he played for Roma.
The right-back, when asked by reporters about the possibility of extending his contract with Sport, said: “it"s certain."
“We had some talks and [Sport Recife"s director of football] Marcos Amaral assured me that he wants to extend my contract. Now it"s a decisive period and I want to focus on the final matches, we can"t do things in a hurry. As I said, it"s certain I"ll renew my contract. Only a few details are left."
Cicinho had to sack his agent in order to keep negotiating with Sport, he said: “The player needs someone to solve things for him. It"s important, but my situation with Sport is personal."
“It"s obvious that if we can"t finalize the negotiations, I"ll need another person to solve my situation. Sometimes the agent does something that ends up hindering the negotiations."
