Bolivian striker Marcelo Moreno admitted that he is pleased that Flamengo’ are keeping tabs on him as Grêmio confirm talks are underway.

Hernanes is currently Flamengo’s main striker but the club have been tracking Marcelo Moreno for the last two weeks as they get ready for the Brazilian national league.

Grêmio’s director of football Marcos Chitolina has confirmed Flamengo are interested in the Bolivian striker, he told Brazilian press: “Many clubs have come to us for Marcelo Moreno. The talks with Flamengo started two weeks ago, we are trying to find a solution that pleases both clubs.”

A deal could be facilitated by the fact Grêmio are willing to let him join Flamengo on a loan deal, rather than demanding that Flamengo sign him permanently.

Marcelo Moreno is also pleased with the interested, he told press: “Flamengo’s fanbase entices any player, that makes me very happy, but I can’t say much as I’m still under contract with Grêmio.”

“I can say only one thing, all players dream of playing for Flamengo, and I am no different. It’s a very traditional club, but I’ll wait.”
