Desportivo Brasil attacking midfielder Wellington Bueno, also known as Juninho, is the latest player revealed to be involved in the academy’s Manchester United program—where the English club help to develop young stars, with a view to a future transfer.

Wellington Jr, 17 just a few days ago, came to the attention of the English media earlier this week, who suggested that the No. 10 may make a move with colleague Bruno Gomes in the future.

While that is still some way from coming to fruition, it is worth noting that Wellington was recently training with partner club FC Twente—where several of those on the scheme have spent time.

The attacking midfielder, who has been compared to Brazilian great Kaká in style, is already represented by superagent Wagner Ribeiro, the man also responsible for the future of Neymar and Lucas Moura among others.

Having formerly represented local side Expressinho in São Paulo state, Wellington has also spent time in the academies of Grêmio and São Paulo, before joining Desportivo at the age of 14.

Highly-rated striker Bruno Gomes is expected to complete a move to Old Trafford within the next 12 months, while midfielder Lucas Evangelista is on loan with São Paulo’s Under-20 side.

Of the others on the program, forward Agnaldo has been loaned to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Molde side, while Aguilar is said to be close to an exit from Desportivo after rejecting Molde.

Slightly older, Gladestony is also on loan at São Paulo, but is not thought to no longer interest the Red Devils, while Rafael Leão has recently joined Middlesbrough.
