Campeonato Carioca: Vitinho shines in Botafogo win, Vasco beat Friburguense
The fifth round of the Rio de Janeiro State Championship was played yesterday, Botafogo kept their good form while Vasco won their first game in Taça Rio.
Vitinho shone despite coming from the bench during the second half, as Botafogo beat Olaria 3-0.
Despite the score, they did not have a great performance, and all goals were scored in the second half.
Lodeiro opened the scoring on the 49th minute, and Vitinho scored a brace in the last 15 minutes to seal Botafogo's win.
The youngester was happy after the game, he said: "The squad is more important than personal shine. If I have to play only in the second half, the important thing is helping the team scoring goals".
Botafogo's win means Vasco are eliminated, despite a 2-1 win against Friburguense. Abuda opened the scoring in the first half, but Lucas equalized with a long distance shot.
Dakson scored Vasco's winning goal near the end of the game.
