Santos’ midfielder Arouca has been forced out of Brazil’s squad to play Bolivia on Saturday due to medical reasons.

Arouca has a right thigh strain, according to the Brazilian national team medical staff, and so will not be able to play on Saturday.

Jadson, Jean, Paulinho, Ralf and Ronaldinho are the remaining midfielders in Brazil squad, but Jean is expected to start as a right-back.

The Brazilian Football Confederation have also announced that no replacement will be called up, so Brazil will have only 17 players in Bolivia.

The national team squad will go to Bolivia on Friday in a charter flight.

A percentage of the game’s revenue will be given to the family of Kevin Beltrán, who was killed in a Copa Libertadores match between San José and Corinthians.

The last time Brazil faced Bolivia was in 2009, when the Seleção won 2-1 in La Paz for the World Cup Qualifiers.
