Flamengo’s young midfielder Adryan has extend his contract with the club until March 2016, his old contract would expire in 2014.

He is the third promising young player to sign a new contract with the club since the new board assumed in January. Rafinha and Rodolfo had previously renewed their contracts too.

Adryan is pleased with the new contract, he told Lancenet: “Since March 18 my life changed as my daughter Laura was born. Flamengo are also in a new moment, and I am ready to face the new challenges that will come. I intend to help the team and bring happiness to the club’s fans”.

The midfielder shone at youth level and was in Brazil’s squad in the Under 17 World Cup in 2011, but has failed to make an impact at senior level.

He was linked to Manchester United and Italian clubs in the past, but the new contract and the 50 million Euros buyout fee will help Flamengo prevent a repeat of the Mattheus situation.
