Fluminense"s goal-shy attacking midfielder Rhayner has been praised by his team-mate Fred following the Tricolor"s 2-0 win over Boavista.

The 22-year-old, who joined Flu on a year-long loan deal from Tombense last December, has failed to find the back of the net in his last 83 games.

Rhayner"s recent performances, though, have caught the attention of Brazil international Fred, who insists the former Náutico loanee has shone in Fluminense"s last three games.

"He [Rhayner] has been the best player on the pitch for the last three games," the former Lyon striker said. "He has to be charged for this determination and this effort."

Rhayner was reduced to tears in the dressing room following his penalty miss in Fluminense"s 3-1 win over Macaé last Wednesday, but the Tricolor faithful cheered his name during Saturday"s game against Boavista.

The Espirito Santo-born midfielder could get the chance to end his 83-game draught when Fluminense take on Resende next Saturday.
