Only one game was played yesterday for the Rio de Janeiro State Championship.

Fluminense beat Boavista 2-0 at Bangu’s Moça Bonita stadium and took the first position in Group B.

Fred made his return to the team after playing for Brazil’s national team in Europe and did not disappoint.

The striker had a good performance, making the assist for Rafael Sóbis’ goal near the end of the game.

Jean was also in Europe with the national team and as like Fred, he had a good, scoring Fluminense’s first goal early in the second half.

Brazil’s national team goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri also started the game, while Wellington Nem could not play due to an injury.

Fluminense play next Saturday against Resende at the Raulino de Oliveira while Boavista return to the Moça Bonita stadium to face Bangu.

The fourth round will be completed this Sunday with three games:

Friburguense vs Olaria

Resende vs Bangu

Macaé vs Duque de Caxias

The match between Vasco and Botafogo has been postponed to Wednesday due to the problems with Engenhão stadium’s roof.
