Benfica have turned down an offer from Palmeiras for Alan Kardec, the Portuguese club deemed the offer too low.

Alan Kardec is currently playing for Benfica’s B team but is still deemed a suitable option for teams in Brazil, having played for Santos from 2011 to 2012.

Palmeiras offered 2 million Euros for the striker, but the Portuguese club want 4 million Euros to negotiate the former Vasco player.

The Brazilian international transfer window closes on April 5, so time is running out for Palmeiras to sign him.

If Alan Kardec is signed, he will be the second Portugal-based striker to join the club, as Porto’s Kléber arrived early this year. He has failed to impress, increasing Palmeiras’ need of a new striker for the rest of the season.

Palmeiras are currently in 7th place in the São Paulo State Championshop, they will face Tigre from Argentina next week for Copa Libertadores.

The Verdão will also play in the Série B from May to November.
