Roma’s Leandro Castan believes there is a different atmosphere under Aurelio Andreazzoli and wants the caretaker manager to stay beyond this season.

Andreazzoli replaced the sacked Zdenek Zeman and Castan believes Roma is benefitting from the decision to change managers.

“So many things are different,” he told Leggo when asked about what went wrong under Zeman. “Now the Coach speaks with the players. Now there is harmony.

Zeman didn’t say a single word to me in six months. Andreazzoli, from the first day, asked me what I liked and what I didn’t.

“If you come and watch us train now then you realise just how different it is from before. All the players train more confidently. And, in games, you can see we play every match like a Final.”

Andreazzoli was only thought to be a short-term replacement until the summer, but his side have picked up four wins, a draw and a loss from his six games in charge.

“I’m rooting for Andreazzoli to stay,” the centre-back continued. “He’s a great guy and a good Coach. You don’t win games by chance in Serie A. We are now a more compact and balanced side.”
