English footballer Joey Barton has once more caused controversy in Brazil with comments regarding rising star Neymar, this time describing him as “cat piss”.
Barton, no stranger to making headlines, made the comments after Neymar failed to impress in Brazil’s 1-1 draw with Russia at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
His words follow an incident last month where he attacked the youngster, before Neymar responded that he had “no idea” who Barton is.
During the game against Russia, Barton tweeted: “Neymar is the Justin Bieber of football. Brilliant on the old You Tube. Cat piss in reality”

In February, following Brazil’s defeat to England at Wembley, Barton had been equally critical of the 21-year-old, calling Neymar “overrated” and a “showpony”.
He went on to make further comments about the youngster playing in the “Amazon Jungle League”, to much derision from the online football community.
Barton currently plies his trade with Ligue 1 side Marseille, on-loan from London-based Queens Park Rangers.
