Flamengo’s new manager Jorginho feels the team need new signings, following the 0-0 draw against Boavista for the Rio de Janeiro State Championship.

He feels the squad is too young and lacks the experience needed for the Brazilian national league. Jorginho said: “We have a relatively young squad, it’s not easy to given them too much responsibility. We will need new signings for the Brazilian League”.

The manager also said: “We have to stay calm, work with the squad we have, it’s possible to have good results”.

Jorginho added that patience is needed, he said: “Maybe the results won’t be so good in the short term, but if we are smart, we need to recognize that the board has credibility to do a medium to long term work. We have to think in long term”.

He also talked about how the current board is changing the financial situation of the club, Jorginho said: It’s not good to have employees that are not paid when it’s due. The payment of salaries isn’t delayed here anymore”.

Flamengo are currently in sixth place in Group B in the Taça Rio, which is the second turn of the Rio de Janeiro’s State Championship.

The rubro-negro will face Santos in May, in their debut in the Brazilian League.
