Brazil-Russia: Thiago Silva and Marcelo set to start
Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has confirmed that Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva and Real Madrid’s Marcelo will start against Russia on Monday.
The Selecao will travel to London over the weekend for the upcoming international friendly at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge.
Following the 2-2 draw with Italy in Geneva last night, Scolari revealed that Silva will be welcomed back into the starting line-up, ahead of Dante.
Marcelo made a late substitute appearance during the draw and will replace Atlético Madrid’s Filipe Luís at left-back.
The line-up, according to Globoesporte, will be confirmed on Saturday, while Kaká’s place on the bench or in the starting eleven is yet to be determined.
Chelsea stars David Luiz and Oscar will be given chances to impress in front of their club’s home fans, while Ramires is attempting to recover from an injury after missing the Italy clash.
Probable Brazil line-up: Julio César, Daniel Alves, Thiago Silva, David Luiz; Marcelo; Fernando, Hernanes, Oscar; Hulk, Neymar, Fred.
