Wolfsburg midfielder Josué set to join Atlético Mineiro
Josué's contract with German team Wolfsburg has been terminated by mutual consent. The 33-year old midfielder had been playing in Germany since 2007, he played 164 games there.
The German club's official site announced that he is joining Atlético Mineiro on a two-year contract.
He told Wolfsburg's official site: "Of course I'm sad for leaving Wolfsburg, but this move is a big challenge for me. It was a wonderful time at the club, with many good and bad moments. I wish the team all the best and I'm confident they will achieve a lot of success".
Josué started his career at Goiás, but became famous at São Paulo, where he formed a very efficient defensive midfield pair with Mineiro.
The midfielder's best season was in 2005, when São Paulo won Copa Libertadores and the Club World Cup.
He was also capped many times, having participated in Copa América in 2007 and the Confederations Cup in 2009.
