Philadelphia Union"s winger Freddy Adu is expected to arrive in Salvador by tomorrow for his medical at Bahia.

The medical will take place at Bahia"s training ground, known as the Fazendão.

The Ghanaian-born player will be involved in a swap deal with former Manchester United midfielder Kléberson, who has struggled to establish himself in the first team.

The deal is considered attractive for both clubs as 2002 World Cup champion Kléberson is a more recognizable name in the United States, while Freddy Adu coild help Bahia expand their brand globally.

Freddy Adu"s salary is also half of that of Kléberson, making the deal financially interesting for Bahia, as the club"s president Marcelo Guimarães Filho told reporters from Salvador: “If the deal is done, costs will be reduced, as Freddy Adu would earn less than Kléberson, who would join Philadelphia Union in a swap deal".

Bahia released a statement explaining why Freddy Adu would be good for the club. The statement says “[The transfer] will improve the relations with American football and will attract both national and international media, the player is good, young and could adapt to Brazilian football".
