Sambafoot takes a look at last night’s Campeonato Mineiro action…

League leaders Cruzeiro maintained their lead at the top of the table with a crushing win over Boa Esporte.

Diego Souza opened the scoring for Cruzeiro before Fernando equalised for Boa, but the hosts kicked into gear and Everton Ribeiro, Borges and Tinga added to the scoresheet to put Cruzeiro four points in the lead.

Title rivals Atlético Mineiro reclaimed second place with a 5-2 victory over derby rivals América Mineiro.

A Réver hat-trick was sandwiched between an early goal by Leandro Donizete and a Diego Tardelli strike.

América had originally taken the lead through Fábio Júnior before Atlético powered to victory, stopping only to let in a consolation goal from Laércio.

An Eric brace sent Guarani on their way to a 4-1 win over América TO which sees the hosts lift themselves off the bottom of the league.
