Jonas netted an injury time goal to top off Valencia’s crushing 3-0 win over Real Betis to continue their charge towards the Champions League places in La Liga.

A Robert Soldado penalty early in the first-half kicked off proceedings at the Mestalla and Valenica looked to be heading for a 1-0 win before a late flurry of goals.

Real Betis’ Brazilian defender Paulão was the unfortunate man who turned into his own net to double Valencia’s lead on the night.

Jonas then fired home to score Valencia’s third of the evening and his eighth goal of the campaign.

Valencia are now in fifth place, two points behind their nearest rivals Real Sociedad, and Real Betis are in seventh after the defeat.
