Corinthians strolled to a comfortable 3-0 win over Mexican side Tijuana as Alexandre Pato netted his second ever goal for the hosts in the Copa Libertadores.

Pato opened the scoring before Paolo Guerrero and Paulinho finished off the rout to put them in a strong position to qualify for the next round of the competition.

The former AC Milan striker pounced on a rebound after a Renato Augusto shot hit the crossbar to give Corinthians the lead.

Guerrero then doubled the lead before the break with a simple finish and Paulinho topped off the victory with a header in the latter stages.

The result puts Corinthians in second place, one point behind opponents Tijuana, but four points ahead of nearest rivals Millionarios.

Corinthians will now look ahead to their next Copa Libertadores fixture against Millionarios with the knowledge that a win would effectively secure qualification to the next round.
