The Confederations Cup is due to kick off on June 15 and will serve as a rehearsal for the upcoming 2014 World Cup to be hosted in Brazil.
The competition has served as a traditional curtain raiser for the year ahead and will give FIFA an opportunity to scrutinise Brazil's preparations.
FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke is currently on a tour to examine facilities ahead of the event and already there have been concerns over the readiness of the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro for the tournament.
But a recent statement from Valcke has dismissed such concerns and revealed the famed stadium is on course to be completed for its estimated date of April 27.
