Copa Libertadores: Mexico's Tijuana stun Corinthians
Defending champions Corinthians have been stunned by Mexico's Tijuana after a 1-0 defeat in the Copa Libertadores.
A solitary Javier Gandolfi goal was enough to give the home side the win as Corinthians endured a game to forget.
The captain executed a superb backheeled finish from a set piece in the 21st minute and Corinthians had no answer as Tijuana comfortably closed out the match.
Tijuana boss Antonio Mohamed said: "This team keeps giving me surprises. We are proud of beating the world champions, we were fair winners.
"In this team, each player would risk their lives for the other. We never give up. This is the proof that we want to keep making history."
The result leaves Tijuana at the top of the table, one point ahead of the Brazilians who will have to be wary of the threat from Colombia's Millionarios in third, who are also one point behind.
