Chelsea 1-0 West Bromwich Albion: Benitez targeted by booboys in routine win

Seleção star Oscar played a pivotal role as Chelsea secured a routine 1-0 win against West Bromwich Albion courtesy of a Demba Ba strike.
Oscar enjoyed a rare start under Rafael Benitez alongside fellow Brazilians David Luiz and Ramires for the visit of Steve Clarke’s men.
The former Internacional star had an early chance for the Blues but the playmaker could only drive his shot into the ground when meeting a low cross from Demba Ba.
But Chelsea found their stride and Ba found himself with an easy tap-in to put the Blues a goal up after Oscar’s cross was diverted by Luiz across the goal.
Frank Lampard had the ball in the net for a second but his effort was disallowed by the referee for offside.
The game then entered a lull as Chelsea dictated play but Petr Cech had to be on his toes to deny an equaliser after Cesar Azpilicueta nearly headed into his own net.
West Brom offered very little going forward without the on-loan Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea strolled to victory in the end.
