
Atlético GO’s Bida appears in court for appeal against two-year ban
The latest in the doping saga involving Atlético GO’s Bida will be played out in his appeal on Thursday as the player contests a two-year ban.
Bida will appear before the court at 11am at the Court of Sports Justice appealing his ban for doping.
The player was caught after failing a drugs test in games against Fluminense and Flamengo in the Brasileirão.
Bida was found guilty of using diuretic hydrochlorothiazide (HCT), after failing two successive tests.
The player was acquitted in the first trial, but the second found him guilty with a two-year ban.
Bida will finally know if he will be able to recover his career as the tribunal convenes to debate his appeal.
The athlete has been banned from playing for the duration of the appeal.
