São Caetano's Rivaldo: We are ashamed of ourselves

Rivaldo has admitted that he is ashamed at São Caetano's recent woeful form after the team sank to its sixth defeat in nine games.

São Caetano has also conceded a grand total of 22 goals in the same period as they lie at the bottom of Campeonato Paulista.

The former Barcelona hitman took to Twitter after their latest defeat, 3-0 to Mirassol, in order to reassure fans.

"We have to get out of this situation. São Caetano does not deserve this. We players have to be ashamed of ourselve," said Rivaldo.

Rivaldo's team-mate Danielzinho concurred as he told reporters after the match that they didn't deserve anything from the game.

"Our team were poor in this game and I cannot explain what has happened. We didn't create enough chances."

São Caetano will hope to rescue their campaign as they host Botafogo next weekend.
