Former Grêmio striker Jonas struck twice to rescue a point for his Valencia side, having fallen 2-0 behind to hosts Real Zaragoza early in the La Liga encounter.
The often overlooked Brazilian has scored 11 times for Valencia this season and, in securing a point at Zaragoza, helped Los Ches in their attempts to keep pace with Malaga and Real Sociedad in the race for the final Champions League qualification spot.
A penalty from Apoño and a goal from Portuguese forward Helder Postiga seemed to have ended Valencia’s afternoon within half an hour, but Jonas had other ideas.
Bringing down a cross from full-back Aly Cissokho, the Brazilian smashed home to pull one goal back within minutes, while midway through the second-half he was once more on hand to capitalise on a head down from teammate Victor Ruiz.
Next up, Valencia take on Levante in La Liga before a return trip to PSG in the Champions League where they will look to overturn a 2-1 deficit.
