Arsenal loanee André Santos dedicated his first Grêmio goal to his wife
Arsenal loanee André Santos celebrated his first Grêmio goal, coming in their 3-0 win over Fluminense on Wednesday, by running to the corner flag making an ‘S’ gesture with his hands, which he has now revealed was a dedication to his wife, Suelen.
Santos, 29, joined Grêmio on loan from the Gunners two weeks ago and revealed that he has been missing his wife and son as they had been in London and, before that, on holiday in Brazil while he was still at Arsenal.
“She arrived from London on Wednesday. It was a long time when we could not see each other, because, before, she was traveling with my son in Florianópolis. She was lucky for me,” the left back told Globo Esporte.
Santos is looking to ressurect his career back in Brazil after failing to adapt to English football and appearing to lose his confidence while playing under Arsene Wenger.
After dedicating the goal to his wife he is now looking forward to spending more time again with his family.
“After waiting so long, I can review it and with my son also, I was very homesick.”
