São Paulo forward Osvaldo on assists: For me, it has the same importance as goals
São Paulo forward Osvaldo has revealed that creating goals has the same importance to him as scoring them.
Osvaldo, 25, has been in fantastic form at the start of this season and has already made six assists in eight games, as well as scoring three goals.
“For me, giving a pass to a goal is equally as important as the goal,” he told Lancenet!
“I'm happy when I do both. I know the fans expect a lot from me, especially after the departure of Lucas. I do not run away from this responsibility, and thanks to God and the support of my teammates and I have managed to help Ney Franco [São Paulo coach].”
And Osvaldo hopes that if he continues this kind of form it will lead to a call up to the Brazil national team under new coach Luis Felipe Scolari.
“I think I have achieved this recognition because of all that I have regularly presented. I have made good football since last year, won a major trophy for the club and all that helped too.
“I'm happy with the affection of the fans and I'm doing everything to be idol for the nation. I'll try to keep giving them joy with goals, passes and titles, for that to happen naturally, just like my dream to defend the Brazilian team.
