Grêmio captain Zé Roberto: No game is life or death
Grêmio captain Zé Roberto said on Tuesday ‘that no football match is about life or death’ but admits that the Copa Libertadores tie at Fluminense on Wednesday evening could be decisive.
Zé Roberto, 38, also added that he thinks its time for the experienced players to step up and help the younger players.
“No game is life or death, but it is a very decisive game,” Zé Roberto told reporters. “We want to win soon, our thought is to play as equals with Fluminense to seek victory.
“Now, the more experienced players, like me, Elano, Dida and Cris have a duty to talk to the younger ones in order to keep the focus of all to win.
“And we're doing it. We know what we missed in the last game. We need the right mentality to make a difference in the Libertadores. And we're very focused.”
Grêmio lost their first Copa Libertadores tie at home to Hauchipato last week 2-1, their first defeat in the new Grêmio Arena.
