Schalke loanee Michel Bastos: I'd much rather have won than score two goals
Michel Bastos scored both goals as Schalke drew with 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday, but the winger is still not satisfied following his side’s fourth straight match without a win.
The 29-year-old has scored three goals in as many league games since joining the Bundesliga outfit on loan from Lyon until the end of the season.
Bastos combined with fellow Brazilian Raffael to get their side back on level terms against Mainz, before he struck again with a trademark strike to make it 2-2 with eight minutes remaining.
However, the Seleção international is not happy with his contribution as Schalke have failed to record a win since he moved to the Veltins-Arena.
Bastos said: "I'd much rather have won than score two goals because I still haven't been able to celebrate since joining the club."
However, Bastos has been praised by his coach and fellow teammates for his contribution so far.
"Anyone who scores three goals in three games for Schalke - that's not a bad buy," said head coach Jens Keller.
Timo Hildebrand added: "You saw today what a great finisher he is. He's just so difficult to defend against and he fits in really well."
