Barcelona’s Dani Alves has hailed teammate Lionel Messi after the forward scored his 300th career goal against Granada.

The Argentinean netted twice to give the Catalan giants a 2-1 win against Granada and has now scored 301 career goals, all for Barcelona.

Granada took the lead through Ighalo, but Messi had other plans and struck twice after the first half setback to take all three points.

Dani Alves joined a long list of admirers last night, speaking to the club’s official website and left bystanders in no doubt about his awe of Messi’s ability.

“Playing next to Messi gives you a lot of tranquility,” the 29-year-old Brazilian said. “It makes it easier to get things done.”

Messi has now netted 37 league goals so far this season, with the Blaugrana stretching their lead at the top of La Liga to 15 points over Atletico Madrid after Saturday’s win.

Barcelona will now prepare to travel to face AC Milan on Wednesday in the last 16 of the Champions League.
