Clarence Seedorf hopes Neymar will play in Europe one day
Botafogo midfielder Clarence Seedorf believes that Brazil should relieve the pressure put on the shoulders of Neymar ahead of the World Cup and hopes to one day see the Santos superstar play in Europe.
Seedorf, 36, who is now in his second season playing in Brazil, met the Brazilian international at Carnaval earlier this week and believes the forward is too young to carry the hopes of a nation such as Brazil.
He said: “He is very young, he does not have to have that responsibility in the squad. The Brazilian people need to take it.
“He has talent. We met two days ago (in the Brahma cabin, the Marquis de Sapucaí). I liked his energy.
“One day, I hope he makes an experience in Europe. There is no price to pay for that experience.
“Normally, he would adapt to playing there. But I'm enjoying watching him play in Brazil. I hope he has much success in life."
