Brazil remain in 18th position in the FIFA world rankings after their defeat to England earlier this month cost them the chance to move up the table.

The 2-1 defeat at Wembley, England's first victory over Brazil in 23 years, meant that Brazil remain in 18th position, but England have moved up two places to fourth, behind Spain, Germany and Argentina.

Luiz Felipe Scolari, who took over from Mano Menezes towards the end of last year, has a big job on his hands to improve this Brazil side ahead of the Confederations Cup this summer and then next year’s World Cup, both of which will be held in Brazil.

Next up for Brazil is a friendly against Italy, to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on Thursday 20th March before taking on Russia at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge five days later.

Top 10 of the FIFA Ranking:

1) Spain - 1590 points

2) Germany - 1437

3) Argentina - 1281

4) England - 1160

5) Italy - 1157

     Portugal - 1129

8) Holland - 1108
