The agent of Internacional star Leandro Damião has revealed that his client would favour a move to Italy rather than England.
Damião, 23, has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur over the past 12 months and was close to moving to the North London club on transfer deadline day last month, only for the two clubs failing to agree a fee.
However, the news of interest from two Italian clubs, Juventus and Napoli, has excited the Brazil international and, according to his agent Vinicius Prates, Serie A would be his destination of choice.
He told Tuttonapoli.net: “The Italian championship is a goal for Damião. He is focused on succeeding in Brazil but anything can happen in June.
“It would be a pleasure for him to wear the shirt worn by Careca.”
And Prates confirmed that Spurs had bid for the player, but also revealed that few European clubs are flush with cash at the moment.
“International refused an offer from Tottenham. Few European clubs have the ability to hire right now.”
