Milan chief: Real Madrid wanted €18m for Kaká
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has revealed that Real Madrid wanted €18million for playmaker Kaká.
The 30-year-old came close to making a San Siro return this month, as the Rossoneri long negotiated with Madrid over a possible deal.
All parties involved wanted the deal to happen, however, a transfer failed to materialise due to the Italian club’s financial situation.
Galliani said: "The story with Kaká is definitively over.
"Real Madrid wanted €18m for Kaká, but taking into account his age and the cost of his salary, it was frankly impossible."
The Serie A outfit instead opted to pay €20million plus performance-related bonuses for Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli.
Kaká, whose reported salary is €10 million a season, cost Real around €65 million (£56m at the time) when they bought the Brazilian from Milan in 2009.
